The 1972 water infrastructure built by the Chinese to serve 180,000 people is still in use today. Much of the city networks still have asbestos mains and the city distribution is limited to 2/3 out of the 5 districts.
With the support of generous investments from several development partners over the past 10 years have helped HWA embark on various projects aimed at improving the water supply system by executing a series of activities to increase the amount of water available and improve the distribution network.
The improvements are not coming quickly enough however, as 68% of the population still lacks access to safe water. The project you’ve sponsored helps meet this dire need for clean and safe drinking water.
Donate today for clean and safe water for the residents of Hargeisa.
